Shortcut

Standard

“A shortcut is a long cut,” my grandma once said
Her words repeating over and over in my head
It was only to a shop down the road I would go
But to me a long cut was boring and slow
So on the way back I took the shortest route
Where the bark of a dog suddenly left me mute
As quickly away from the dog I fled
I remembered the words my grandma had said

Hoodies

Standard

Jamming on road wid my boys
Not making any noise
Man look hard on my face
Then quickly turn it away
Seen that same look
When man get shook
Cos I’m wearing a hood
Like it’s a crime
Though if you took the time
To reason wid me
You’ll see I’m a friend and not an enemy

Keep The Faith

Standard

Faith is the substance of things hoped for
It is the evidence of things not seen
Faith conquers anything!

When the stresses and pain of work get to you
Faith conquers all
And when the enemy continually tempts you like a fool
Faith conquers all

When sadness creeps in at the loss of a loved one
Faith conquers all
And when life you feel you cannot take no more
Faith conquers all

For you must remember that:
Faith is the substance of things hoped for
It is the evidence of things not seen
And with it you can conquer anything
So keep the faith…

Goals

Standard

The Gunners are best for scoring goals
Chelsea, Tottenham and West Ham knows
Giroud and Walcott are usually the top scorers
While Cazorla and Wilshere are world class performers
All the teams get really upset
Because a Gunner has scored in their net!!!

Fish Bowl

Standard

Gracefully swimming around her home
She digs for treasures untold
Unearthed behind precious blue stones
To the top she swims
Quenching her thirst
Creating bubbles on its surface
Gulping from its crystal fountain
Her tail swaying left to right
A most beautiful sight
With barely a sound to be heard

A slender body of silver and orange
Covered in black dots
She hides inside caves of green
Re-emerging during times of lights dim
No other place she’d rather be
Than in her home
My eyes to see

Hot Tub

Standard

Steaming
Hot Tub
Laid back
Eyes closed

Mind
Wandering
Floating
To worlds unknown

Plug pulled
Yesterday
Washed away
Its hurt
Its pain
Gone down the drain

A lighter, brighter
Day ahead
Instead
Its time to get out
Until I run it all over again
