Relatable Storyteller
When I came across a post by esteemed blogger Vincent Ehindero which encouraged bloggers to promote other bloggers on their site, I thought to myself, what a great idea! See Vincent’s post here for details: https://vincentehindero.wordpress.com/2020/06/19/important-announcement-❤%ef%b8%8f✅/
Vincent’s encouragement of us promoting younger aged bloggers as well as those who are new to the blogging community with a small amount of followers is something I endorse and am in agreement with.
If like me you love great story telling containing suspense and on edge of your seat cliff-hangers then look no further than KINYWA. The blogger behind the short stories on this new site is 21 year old Kenyan, Allen Mwema. Allen is a Communications undergraduate at the Multimedia University of Kenya which is located in the country’s capital of Nairobi. He is interested in telling social stories with a personal touch to resonate with people. He says: “Our everyday life and the predicaments of what we go through as we try to figure ourselves out feeds heavily into my writing. I like that we all go through the same things at different times and hence can relate.”
It is Allen’s hope in the near future to pursue screen writing and turn some of his written pieces into plays. He says: “My audience can look forward to experiencing feelings in an interactive way alongside the range of human emotions to be found within my stories.”
And if his introductory story – Technical Misdemeanor is anything to go by (check it out here: https://amshakinywa.wordpress.com/2020/06/11/technical-misdemeanor/) then we all will be in for a long-lasting treat!

With that said, I would like to introduce you to Michael Reynoso, the blogger behind COMING OF AGE for Men.
Rather than me saying what his inspirational blog is all about, read it from the man himself taken from his About section:

There will be daily inspirational content to help you stay positive and encouraged. You will be inspired by my own story as I share with you my journey to becoming a man.

MOTHERLAND
StandardToday is Windrush Day! 72 years ago approximately 500 individuals from the Caribbean Islands travelled on board the SS Empire Windrush ship which docked at the Tilbury Docks in England on 22nd June 1948. They were invited by the British Government to assist in the rebuilding of the country after World War Two. They were told that they were coming to the “Motherland” – a place paved with streets of gold but upon arrival coldness in every sense of the word was felt whilst encountering signs in windows which told them “No Blacks, No Dogs and No Irish” were welcome. Yet inspite of such treatment they dug deep, worked hard and till today remain the ones you will see working in the essential front line services we often take for granted such as Bus Drivers, NHS Staff, Motor Mechanics and Support Staff in schools which play a huge part in keeping the country going. Below is a poem I have written in tribute to the Windrush Generation of which I proudly belong!
MOTHERLAND
Plenty sun, sea and drum
Yes dog, yes Irish and Caucasian
Bodies ah move to Calypso beat
Sweat ah drip inna tropical heat
Nah water or gas bill to pay
Politician ah lie dem still say
Coco, mango, sour sap, cane
Dew come after de latter rain
Sabbath or Sunday service ah bliss
Ah likkle prayer nah go amiss
Amen, Hallelujah de people say
To de preacher broken bread of day
Clear blue sky with cool fresh air
Smile pon faces everywhere
Island covered by sea and sand
Dis we call we Motherland

So with this in mind, the first blog I will be promoting here is by a young man from Zimbabwe. This young man is a first year medical student at the University of Zimbabwe which is located in the capital – Harare. In his own words he has “a passion to change the world and the lives of young adults not only by medical career but also through conscious writng, sharing tips and poetry.” He is on course to become a qualified medical doctor by the end of 2024 with the view to practice as an orthopaedic surgeon. Any visitor to or follower of his site – Get It Right! For Life – will be motivated, encouraged, life coached and mentally stimulated through the subjects he covers which work to offer practical advice to those wanting to live a life of purpose on purpose. His latest post which offers life skill coaching to students on the brink of adulthood is a prime example of what it means to live a purpose driven life – see post here: https://buyitrightforlife.wordpress.com/2020/06/21/five-reasons-why-you-should-find-a-hustle/
The talented young man behind Get It Right! For Life is Tanaka and it gives me great pleasure to promote his awesome blog which you can follow here: https://buyitrightforlife.wordpress.com

I would like to express my deepest gratitude to both Domeka and Shubhangi for their nomination of me for this award. I would also in turn like to congratulate them both for receiving this award too for they both truly live up to the name of the award. Domeka inspires readers with her own personal faith journey while also encouraging them to do the same. Go check it out for yourself – follow her blog here: https://mymeekmeek.com while Shubhangi is equally inspiring with her daily posts and range of creativity from poetry to opinion and diary entries – check out her blog here: https://theshubhsterdiaries.com
MY RESPONSE TO DOMEKA’S QUESTIONS
(1) If you could give any advice to your younger self what would it be? Treasure every moment with your loved ones because they will not be with you forever!
(2) You can only choose one thing to change about the world today. What would that one thing be? An end to racism
(3) What advice would you give to new bloggers? 😀 Blog as often as you can and enjoy every moment of it! Remember great bloggers are those who read and comment on other bloggers so do this! 😃
(4) Are you better at writing or speaking? Writing
(5) Are you consistent? Not as much as I’d like to
MY RESPONSE TO SHUBHANGI’S QUESTIONS
1. What is your motivation to keep writing?
My motivation to keep writing comes from reading other writers of all genres. Reading other writers motivates you to them write yourself and should those who read your work be also motivated to write themselves then that is an added bonus!
2. If you weren’t writing, what would you be doing?
If writing was not my passion then I would probably be teaching.
3. What is the one thing you want people to take away from your blog?
That is a good question. It’s difficult to pin it down to one thing. I’d say I’d want readers to be inspired by what they read – so take inspiration with them by what they find and read on my blog if that makes sense and answers your question?
4. What’s one thing you would like your readers to know?
I would like my readers to know that I am humbled and truly grateful for each time they read, comment or like any of my blog posts!
5. What is your favourite thing to write about?
As a freelance journalist, there is no greater satisfaction in interviewing and then publishing human interest features on ordinary people doing extraordinary things within society – if I can play a small part in sharing human interest news stories which motivate and inspire others to go out and do the same by means of reaching out to others then I know my work is not in vain!
